Sam Koh has over 25 years of experience in business development. He has been working closely with the founding partners of Orchid Group for the past ten years, and is based in Seoul, South Korea.
He has played a pivotal role in expanding the clientele base in Korea and led opportunities to advise for major banks, rating agencies, accounting firms, as well as energy and power generation companies in South Korea. Orchid Group is well recognized throughout Korea as one of the most prominent international energy advisory firms in the industry.
Sam was formerly the expansion manager for Carrefour Korea and was later promoted as the first PR director in Korea. Since he began his career in the energy industry in 2007, he has been involved in numerous projects ranging from renewables to conventional energy. Both inbound and offshore investment advisory related to power generation projects and fuel market advisory work have been the key area of competency, and he has helped bring projects to successful closure for major clients such as KEPCO, Daewoo E&C, GS, Doosan Heavy Industry, Samsung Everland, KDB, Macquarie, Korea Ratings, Eurus Energy Holdings, AES, Orix Investment, etc. He has extensive experience in renewables, particularly in wind and solar farm development in Korea.
Sam is a founding member of Korean M&A Association and holds a BS degree in Marketing from University of Oregon. Sam is fluent in Korean and English.
